For those of you who don’t know, Joey Graceffa is a YouTuber
with about 2,000,000 subscribers. Now, I am one of them, and I have been
watching Joey for a looong time, but in no way will that make this post biased.
Recently a man by the name of Nate Clark who is a Radio host
for KCRW, posted a video telling his side to what happened when Joey Graceffa’s
car was towed a couple of days back.
The video has amassed over 1,000,000 views as of this post
and is growing. In response people are OUTRAGED, feeling so betrayed that Joey
could “lie” and be so “one-sided”. My response to that is... who cares?
I don’t think anyone has EVER completely told a story in which
they were the culprits 100%. I know I haven’t. And it’s a shame that Joey had
to get called out on it specifically when it’s something many people do
everyday, especially if you aren’t in a good mood – I know I wouldn’t be if MY
car got towed.
If something like this were to happen to me - or anyone else
I’m sure - even if I was in the wrong, I would not be thinking, oh this was a
perfectly logical reason for this occurring… I am so in the wrong. I would be
thinking “HOLY CRAP MY CAR JUST GOT TOWED” It would not be in my interest to
have people add to my already distressed state of mind, so I wouldn’t go around
feeling like I should atone for a sin or something. Jeez.
If people are going to spend time going back to Joey’s video
to bash it and whatnot, then they themselves are calling out and blaming Joey…
for just being a human being. He never named the guy who towed his car * cough * Nate Clark * cough * specifically.
It was just a normal rant. That’s what we do when we are upset. We rant.
All in all, I hope
this blows over, and people can just go back to watching and enjoying Joey’s
videos because first and foremost he IS an entertainer, sure he may have been in the wrong, but are you
telling me in the same situation you wouldn’t feel as distressed and say the
same thing.
I for one do not
dislike Joey any less, in fact it made me like him more because it shows me he
IS a human being, and when people spend so much time watching YouTube videos for
the personalities and personas, they tend to forget that.

people make mistakes. Learn from them, move on.
