O.P.I Gel Polish Review

Hey everyone, I thought I’d post a quick review of the OPI gel manicure I got done at a salon a little while back.

The color I used was called “Are We There Yet?”  It’s a beautiful pastel pink shade – like bubblegum.

This is how the finished product looked like right after I got it done.

The last time I got a gel manicure done, I wanted to get it off after a week (I’m not good at sticking to things for a long period of time XP) and I made a guide on how I did that myself here:

This time around I ended up keeping it for nearly a month and I have to admit I was really impressed. It didn’t chip at all, nor did it peel or get ruined.

The pic below shows the result after one week on the left, and three weeks on the right. (Since my nails grew out a bit too long, I ended up cutting them, and the nail polish still didn’t chip.)

One complaint I have is that after your nails do grow out a bit, your strands of hair could get caught underneath the lower portion of the nail polish since it begins to peel off the nail from the side facing the cuticle. That did get extremely frustrating at times especially while I was in the shower and tried to shampoo or touch my hair at all. Other than that – which you can manage if your careful – there was nothing wrong with the gel polish and I recommend it if you are willing to commit to a nice polish for a while.

If you guys try it out, let me know~
Take care,

Manicure of the Week!

Hey guys, sorry I haven't been posting much lately, I don't exactly have anything to say as of now and I don't have time either, but I'll get back to writing more soon~ promise ^^

I actually tried this out last month as well (but this time it's a different design) from the Salon Effects nail polish strips by Sally Hansen.

This particular set is called 'Laced Up'

I don't have much else additional commentary to add since I've already reviewed this twice. You can check out my most recent one here:

Like I said before, they are great quality and easy to use - which is why I keep using them. Plus, they have the cutest designs that you don't have to spend time getting done at a salon :p.

Here is how my finished product came out:

If any of you try them out let me know what you think!

Manicure of the Week!

I don't think my manicure of the week classifies as a weekly thing anymore since it's been months since I've posted one :P Regardless, I'll label any nail art / manicures I get done in the future the same just for the sake of consistency :)

I actually tried this out a while ago but didn't get a chance to post about it sooner, it's a part of the Salon Effects nail polish strips  by Sally Hansen.

This particular set is called 'Love Letter'

They are honestly great quality! I managed to keep mine on for two weeks and only removed them because my nails grew out too much, and they were simple to remove: just use regular nail polish remover! They didn't chip or peel off, and were beyond easy to apply. The beauty of them is that you don't have to be ambidextrous to get nice results on both hands XD

Here is how my finished product came out and I was obsessed:

I'm currently wearing another set of nail stickers now with a different pattern that I will write about next week ~ hopefully.

NOTE: this is not my first time trying them, I made another post about the first time I used them back in February~ http://alittlebitofeverything-alboe.blogspot.com/2014/02/manicure-of-week.html

If any of you try them out let me know what you think!

Nice Guy (AKA The Innocent Man) - [KDrama Review]

Hey everyone long time no see… I swear time is moving by too quickly! Anyways, I had some free time on my hands the other day so I decided to start watching a KDrama called “Nice Guy” or “The Innocent Man” starring Song Joong-ki, (since he has been my obsession lately :D) and I ended up finishing it in one day and a half… you can say I’m passionate.

It’s not that the drama was CRAZY good, but it did a good job of keeping me on edge and interested enough to see what happened in the next episode right away; which explains why I finished it so fast ;P

Overall I give it a 7.0/10, just because even though I really enjoyed all the different character arcs and overall acting, the ending slightly disappointed me. I was content, but kind of confused and unsatisfied. Other than that, not many complaints on my part.

I have to admit this is my first drama with Song Joong-ki in it, and after seeing his bright, flower-boy presence on Running Man, he surprised me with his phenomenal acting. He can portray so many different aspects to his character. A dynamic actor indeed.

Speaking of Running Man, Kwang-soo was also featured in the drama, and he provided the occasional comic relief that was refreshing from all the drama. I loved his love line with Lee Yu-bi, they were a perfect pair.

The chemistry between the characters was amazing. I’ve never heard of Moon Chae-won before, but I’m interested in her now after seeing her star in this drama. She’s beautiful and does a great job of going from sweet to fierce in seconds. A nice compliment to Joong-ki’s acting.

Overall an entertaining and sweet drama. Nice cast and interesting story. If any of you have seen it before, let me know what you thought!

Take care,

Girls' Generation Comeback! 지금은 소녀시대 ❤

QUICK NOTE: I try to even out my posts, and not bombard you with a whole bunch of posts on one day and none the next, but with all the stuff going on - and how busy I've been lately (as much as I hate to do it) that's what I'm going too have to do ~ for the time being only though :3

ALRIGHT, Back to the topic of the post : Girls' Generation !

I haven't posted anything on Korea yet, because quite frankly I haven't had time, but just FYI, I'm very much in love with the Korean culture - movies, shows, songs, dress, food etc...

So with the comeback of my favorite Kpop Girl Group, Girls' Generation, I feel like now is as ideal a time as ever to make a post ~ :)

In case you are unaware, there is a famous Girl Group from Korea called Girls' Generation, and after about 14 months out of the Korean K-pop scene, they have finally made their Korean comeback with their 4th EP called Mr. Mr. which is also the name of the single they just released their music video for: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z8j_XEn9b_8

The Video: I know there is a lot of mixed feelings on the video, but I enjoyed it overall; maybe it's just because I'm so happy to see the girls back after over a year of leave from the Korean music department. I personally enjoy the techno style and I like the concept. It kind of reminds me of the "Like A Boy" theme by Ciara back in 2007, with all the girls dressing like guys, except SNSD looks much classier.
The I heard there were apparently some issues with the video development / editing and some files got corrupted or something - so the girls had to reshoot some scenes. All I can say to that is I think they still did a pretty good job, I wouldn't have said anything was out of the ordinary if I just watched the video without that knowledge. That being said, the only thing that could've been re-shot in my opinion is the first dance break:

Just because where they are, and what they are wearing has nothing to do with the concept... It stil looks nice and isn't too odd, but if I had to guess, that would be the only thing to grab my attention...

Other then that, the girls all look stunning as usual, and the cinematography of the video is beautiful. I particularly enjoyed the scene where they were all strutting through the hall towards the middle of the song.

I also love the buildup at the end of the song, first with Tiffany's high note, then Jessica adding on, and then my bias Taeyeon spicing it up even more.

The Album: Maybe it's because I'm biased, or because its a short EP as opposed to a full length album, but I'm in love with all of the songs. There are only 6 and they are:

No.Title

Length
   1."Mr.Mr."

03:55
2."Goodbye"  03:14
3."Europa" (Korean유로파)03:22
4."Wait A Minute"  03:25
5."Back Hug" (Korean백허그)04:09
6."Soul(Korean version)

03:47

My favorite song is "Soul"; apparently GG already released a Chinese version of the song, but I haven't heard it before so I'm in love! The beat is infectious, and their voices are on point. The chorus is so nice, and Tiffany and Hyoyeon's rapping is so good. Next comes the single "Mr. Mr." just because it is their single, and I can't wait for them to perform it live on all the music shows ~

The rest of their songs are nice as well: some cute upbeat songs (Wait A Minute & Goodbye), some songs that remind me of old Soshi (like Europa) and some ballads (Back Hug) that show off their voices. That's why I love SNSD, at the end of the day, aside from being pretty, they actually have wonderful singing voices and raw talent, and sometimes people forget that.

Critiques & Final Commentary: For the video I wish I could see more of the dancing, since GG do have a signature dance from each of their Korean singles. But I guess we have to wait for the live performances to see!

On the album, I like how you can hear more of each girls' voice in each song, like in "Goodbye" you can hear Hyoyeon's distinct voice and I wish the parts were divvied up more evenly so we can hear her and some of the other girls like Yuri and Sooyoung in the main single. I understand the other girls are more of the main vocalists, but still, I feel like as time goes on they get less parts - in the title songs at least. You can hear them on the albums though.

They also all looked absolutely stunning :)
All in all: great album, wonderful comeback. Soshi for life! 지금은 소녀시대
Go buy the album :D
Take care!

Pretty Little Liars : Season 4B episodes 14 & 15 Review

Hello everyone!

So I have been kind of behind on my PLL (Pretty Little Liars) lately, but since we have a wonderful long weekend this week, it has given me a chance to catch up on the last week's and this week's episodes.

I could go into an excruciatingly long review of all the things I liked and disliked about the shows return, but rather, I've decided to break down everything that's happened into 10 major points with my commentary underneath.

1. Haleb Breakup
I don't know if it's just me, but Haleb was one of my FAVORITE couples on the show. They have also been the most consistent - as in no break ups (Ezria) or no temporary dips into the dark side (Spoby) - and I feel like even though I understand that their breakup was necessary for Caleb to go back to Ravenswood (which I haven't watched since episode 3 - so idk if he's fallen for Miranda or not) the way it was handled was so sloppy. Not nearly as clean, or sweet as it could have/should have been. I don't know, there is so much more I could say, but they would all add up to me just being unhappy with the way their break up went down. R.I.P Haleb </3

2. Ezra Creepiness
Alright, I know I shouldn't be saying this but Ezra will always have this edge of hotness no matter what he does, at least in my book ;) That being said, I can't deny or ignore the fact that he went from MAJORLY attractive, to MAJORLY creepy (but still attractive) in the last two eps. I mean sneaking into Hanna's room, looking through her purse?!! That's a big no-no Mr. Fitz. I have to give props to Ian Harding, he's giving Ezra a major 180 degree flip in terms of acting, it's like we can see the crazy emanating from his eyes. Still don't know whether or not I believe he is 100% crazy or evil yet. Mona is onto something though, then again, she always is. I forget how smart she really is sometimes. I was surprised Ezra managed to maintain his ground when she was suggesting he might be hiding something. I'm not going to lie, I enjoyed the uncomfortable look on her face as she shuffled away once he retaliated. (Mona intimidated?! Guess Ezra is even more dark than we feared...)

3. Spoby
I'm pleased Spoby is getting a lot more screen time this season (with Toby disappearing a while towards the end of last season for reasons I can't remember)  There is some serious shade going on with the Hasting and DiLaurentis families. Glad Spencer decided to split and live with Toby. I hope he can get to the bottom of what happened to his mom, I had seeing him all sad, I miss bada$$ Toby.

4. Travis
Kinda cute, not as cute as Caleb, but we shall see if his relationship with Hanna can blossom into something to fill the void Haleb left behind...

5. Hanna got brains
On the topic of Hanna once more, she seriously either got smarter this season or has been smart this whole time and was just playing dumb. Nah, I doubt she could've been playing dumb - what would this show do without the classic Hanna lines. But it terms of character development she has shown the most. I'm pleased with her sudden forcefullness in thinking and producing theories... though her temporary fling with Mike was an unexpected and random surprise.

6. Emily & Aria Issues
I'd have to say that the two characters I'm least pleased with at the moment are Aria and Emily. Emily needs to get her feelings in check and get over this love / hate confusion she has for Allison, it's causing her to not think straight. Also, I don't blame Aria for not seeing into Ezra's creepy new demeanor but she is two timing my boy Jake, and that is not cool. I like Jake and can't wait for him to make his return, he is smart and I hope he can help Aria out.

7. Mama DiLaurentis
Shade alert. She is not alright, something is seriously off about this woman, but I guess we have to wait and see what it is.

8. Where's Mike?
Kind of random... but did they ever explain where Mike went? He just up and disappeared. I guess since he isn't really relevant to the show at the moment they don't need him. But I hope he makes a cameo or two this season - he's cute ;)

9. Allison
She is hella good at hiding, that's all I'm gonna say... *sigh* if she was or is afraid of Ezra, I don't see what could be SO bad about him, or what he could have over her that is so big, that she couldn't get some non-corrupt police officers to handle...

10. CeCe
I feel like we are going to see her name on the news headlines soon, for either being caught or dead. I dont mind either way, I feel like she wont give up any useful info if they catch her alive, so I don't mind her being dead. :p #heartless

Well, that's all I've got to say about these past two eps, all in all, I am sort of dying to know what happens, sort of not. I miss Jake and creepy Ezra has to tow down the creepy... (still cute tho ;P) Can't wait till Tuesday!

Let me know what you think down below!

Take care,
xoxo SiSi
